Planning approval
The site that said no from every angle
The Noble Consultancy has just helped Taylor Wimpey Bristol finally secure detailed planning consent on 2nd July 2026 for 90 new homes, plus outline consent for a care home and employment use.
Working on behalf of Bewley Homes, The Noble Consultancy have helped secure permission for a sensitive extension to the existing village of Bishops Green. The village is ideally located 6.7KM south of Newbury and a 20-minute drive from both the M3 and M4.
Providing a mixture of one, two, three, four and five bedroom homes to meet local need, with 40% affordable homes, that are tenure blind, the new development focuses on providing open space and connections with the surrounding nature and wildlife.
The site, which is flanked by designated Gold Copse Ancient Woodland, will include a ‘no development’ buffer of 21m to ensure the preservation of the woodland and its associated biodiversity. Site levels along with existing trees, hedgerows and vegetation have been carefully considered in the design of the scheme and connectivity throughout the development and with the existing village has been sensitively approached.
The proposed dwellings will compliment the character and vernacular of the village with a range of scales, forms, materials of details
At each design stage the detailed proposals were reviewed against the 12 considerations of Building for a Healthy Life to create a place that is better for people and nature.
